“The Arabian Desert Bedouin” by Fred Shadian

There is a wonderful story that I used to enjoy when I was a kid called

“The Arabian Desert Bedouin”.

An elder desert Bedouin wished to visit a friend who lived in a far away land.  The Bedouin did not have a camel or a horse nor did he have a magic carpet.  He was a very poor man. One day he decided to begin his journey on foot. It took him weeks and weeks of traveling through the deserts, climbing the mountains, crossing the rivers and avoiding the bandits but at long last he reached his destination and arrived at his friend’s house. His friend was overjoyed to see him.

Welcome! Welcome!  How did you manage to get here by yourself?

The Bedouin said:  “I took the first step towards my journey and didn’t look back. I just kept moving and was looking forward to seeing you and your family.”

This is a wonderful story to remember when we are inspired to act yet hesitate to take the necessary action.

Leadership Series: September Book review by Fred Shadian

Here is my September Book Review

Last week i placed an online order to purchase the “Leadership Series- Volume 1, 2,3,4 and 5” by Torkom Saraydarian (1917 – 1997).  He is one of my favorite Ageless Wisdom Metaphysical writers of all time.

Well, the five books are here and it feels like i just received an inspirational Christmas present from “Santa” Torkom.

The book is jam-packed with golden nuggets.  Just to give you an idea of the depth of this book, the below paragraph is on page 36 of Leadership, Volume 1.

This is an excerpt from Leadership Series – Volume 1

(479 pages), published 1995 by T.S.G. Publishing Foundation, Inc.

“That is why if you have vision, you are creative.

When you have energy circulation, you have continuous and ever-expanding source of inspiration and impressions from higher sources. Thus, you elevate and sublimate yourself through contacting energies coming continuously from higher sources.

One must have a vision.

If you do not know what you are going to be, then you are going to be nothing. You become a human being because you stove for the vision of a human being. You become an artist because you had the vision to be an artist. Whatever you are now, that was the accomplishment of your past vision; and what-ever you will be in the future is based on the vision that you build in the present.

Try to have a vision of being something that is for service of humanity.

Immediately when you create a vision, you are caught in the whirlpool of the vision. The vision will pick you up like an eagle. If you have a vision from which you cannot escape even if you try, you have a real vision. Vision is the vehicle of your Higher Self, and once the Higher Self has a means to contact you, you will never be the same.”

Enjoy creating your Vision for your Present Future.

Accelerated Learning Strategy of Matching & Mirroring by Fred Shadian

Matching & Mirroring is an interesting learning phenomenon

that takes place from time to time with or without our conscious awareness.

The more aware we are of matching & mirroring learning strategy

the faster we can discover if we learn by one or the other or a combination of both.

While working out with a couple of my martial arts students,

I noticed matching & mirroring taking place.

As I was showing a specific martial arts technique to student A (he learns by mirroring), student B automatically positioned himself on an angle to match my movements. He knew that matching was the best way for him to learn.

Once you determine if you learn by matching, mirroring or both, then learning any physical skill will be accelerated.

In my new book “Vibrational Oneness” I discuss many different learning strategies that can be utilized in every aspect of our learning journey. – Fred Shadian

“In my seminars I often refer to the fact that the best tools on the internet are free.”  by Shane Gibson

“Who says there is no Free Lunch. if you are adding value to the conversation you will always get a Free Lunch” Fred Shadian

Chris’ strategy on charging for abridged versions is interesting, he says:

Why is the whole book free in audio form, but half the book is $7.49? [note from Shane] Because, as the Audible.com listing explains,“Get the point in half the time! In this abridged edition, the author handpicked the most important and engaging chapters and points, cutting three hours from the length without losing key concepts. Time is money!”

Thought-provoking quotes from Dr. Nido Qubein

Thought-provoking quotes from Dr. Nido Qubein book, “Stairway To Success.”

Ponder these quotes as you reflect on your life and most importantly see how you can apply them in every aspect of your life.

You cannot give that which you do not possess.

Relationships break down when there is a preoccupation with self.

Winners compare their achievements with their goals, while losers compare their achievements with those of other people.

The practical side of dreaming is being willing to pay the price to make those dreams come true.

Are you a thermometer or a thermostat?  A thermometer only reflects the temperature of its environment, adjusting to the situation.  But a thermostat initiates action to change the temperature in its environment.

Those with a strong self-image realize that the only way to keep from making mistakes is to do nothing – and that’s the biggest mistake of all.

The process of growing and learning always involves risk.  No one ever becomes perfect, but anyone can improve.

• Whether you are a success or failure in life has little to do with your circumstances; it has much more to do with your attitude.

• If you could view your life as you do a highway from an airliner, many of the detours and curves would make more sense.

• The practical dreamers know the harder they work, the luckier they get.

• Fixing the blame is never important, and fixing the relationship is never unimportant.

• You can’t think your way into acting positively, but you can act your way into thinking positively.

• People who are looking for something to make them happy, somehow never seem to find it.  Yet those who find a way to be happy while they are looking for something, typically find what they are looking for.

• Grudges are like tumors; they can live and grow only when they’re eating on you.

• What matters is not so much how you got to be the way you are now, but what you do with the person you have become.

• A strong awareness that you are loved by God provides the most solid foundation for building high self-esteem.

Discovering Your Clients Core Values by Fred Shadian

Discovering Your Clients Core Values

I was checking in earlier today on ZYX Airlines (to protect the staff identity) and I began a friendly conversation with the ticket agent who seemed very approachable. I have a habit of thanking people by their name when they are helping me.  I noticed the name on their name tag was faded away and I jokingly asked if they had been working for this company for a look time.  They answered, to my amazement, “Are you a psychic”. i jokingly replied..Maybe 🙂

I happened to notice that your name was faded on the name tag. Their reply was: “Oh my do you know how long it takes to get anything done with this company? I have asked them for a new name tag every month for the last 12 months and they still haven’t given me one. Maybe they will give one when I retire at the end of next year.”

I couldn’t help but ask: “What do you like most about your job?”  (a simple question I like to ask people to discover what their core values are)

“I love meeting people and the ability to travel is a major bonus.”

I have the same question for you. What do you like most about your job or profession?

This is a simple way to discover and align with your Core Values. Then you can find people you’d like to work with that share similar values.

In the last blog entry “Picking the Right Profession” I talked about my Secret Formula 🙂

Find customers that are looking for you!

Hope the above entry helps you to discover your core values and the core values of your customers.

Your feedback and comments are always appreciated.  I would love to hear how finding your core values has helped you in finding your clients.
